Choosing an awning feels overwhelming. We make it simple.
With options like open roll, open roll with hood, semi-cassette, or full cassette, plus hundreds of fabrics and frame colors, it’s easy to get stuck. Then you have to decide: manual crank or motorized with remote, phone, or tablet control?
That’s where we come in. Okanagan Screens has been designing and installing awnings for 20+ years. We walk you through every choice so you get the right fit for your home, budget, and lifestyle.
UV Protection
Awnings offer excellent protection from harmful UV rays. Quality fabrics have been proven to provide up to 98% protection from the sun’s harmful effects. With this protection you will be able to be cool and comfortable on the sunniest days of the summer.
Energy Savings
Installing an awning on your home or business will keep your energy costs down by blocking the sun’s heat. Studies by the American Society of Heating and Air Conditioning Engineers confirm that an awning can reduce heat gain by 55 to 65% on a south facing window and 70 to 77% on western exposures. Having an awning will allow you to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors by not having to close blinds or draw your drapes. With a retractable awning, command of the bright outdoors is yours.

Options & Upgrades
Sun and Wind Sensors
The sun sensor automatically extends the awning when light or heat reaches your preset level. The wind sensor automatically retracts it when wind speeds exceed safe limits. Set it and forget it.
Manual Override
Power outages happen. Manual override lets you extend and retract your motorized awning with a conventional crank. Peace of mind, standard on most installations.
Retractable Valance
A drop-down fabric valance at the front of the awning. Perfect for extra sun protection from late-day sun or added privacy.
Side Curtains
Additional fabric panels that attach to the sides of the awning. Designed for extra sun, wind, and privacy protection.

We source from the best manufacturers in the business, including Rolltec™, Stobag, and Mitjavila. After 20+ years installing in the Okanagan, we know which system fits your specific application, budget, and exposure. We’ll recommend the right one — no favoritism, just the best fit.
